Custom Porcelain Veneers for a Brilliantly White and Uniform Smile

Dr. Michael Miyasaki has provided cosmetic dentistry treatment to people in and around Sacramento for many years. He has had extensive training in the most innovative procedures to correct dental flaws that detract from the beauty of people’s smiles.

Many cosmetic dentistry procedures make your smile more attractive and improve your teeth’ function. The wonderful thing about cosmetic dentistry is that while improving the aesthetics of your mouth, teeth, and gums, we also improve the form and function of those structures.

Porcelain veneers are the most popular and frequently performed cosmetic dentistry procedure; they are long-lasting and look beautiful. No one will know you’ve had porcelain veneers placed to correct flaws in your teeth, and they are easy to maintain.

What Are Porcelain Veneers?

Dental veneers are thin, custom-made shells that our dentists place on the front of the teeth to improve their appearance. For the porcelain veneer process, your dentist will remove a tiny bit of enamel from each tooth to create a space for the veneer to adhere to and not interfere with your bite.

Then, a putty mold is created on the teeth with that layer of enamel removed. This mold hardens and will be fabricated in the lab.

Temporary veneers are prepared and applied while the permanent veneers are made. When the permanents arrive, the dentist will use an acidic gel that dissolves minerals on the surface of each tooth so that there is a rough surface for the veneer to bond to solidly. Cementing the veneers in place quickly involves a special light to speed the hardening process. Once the porcelain veneers are set, they will be bonded to your teeth in minutes.

Lumineers®

At Miyasaki Dental, we also offer Lumineers®, known for their extreme thinness and not requiring enamel removal or ease of placement. Lumineers® porcelain veneers are as thin as contact lenses. Proven to last up to 20 years, these fantastic veneers are carefully color-matched to your teeth, so they blend in beautifully.

Despite their extreme thinness, these veneers are both durable and able to mask dark tetracycline-stained or yellowed teeth completely, offering all the benefits of traditional veneers without the permanence of other veneers because Lumineers® can be removed if necessary.

PATIENT TESTIMONIALS

Thorough Care & Education: A Dental Experience Like No Other

I’ve never had such thorough care as a new patient! They took such great interest in my history and gave me a comprehensive exam. The whole time they were educating me on what they were looking for and what they found. I even learned something new about the way my jaw works, which no dentist has ever shared with me before. They were warm, caring and very thorough. I have a history of dental issues and I feel confident that they can work with my existing treatments and keep me in tip top shape. Thank you!

BioClear® Veneers

This is another type of dental veneer that does not require enamel removal before placing the veneer. With BioClear® veneers, the enamel will stay on the tooth, and our cosmetic dentists use composite instead of porcelain. A clear plastic wraps around either side of the tooth, creating the perfect shape for the tooth. BioClear® veneers can last as long as ten years as the material is durable and can withstand wear and tear.

Our dentists will explain which dental veneer would work best for you.

Porcelain Veneers Fix Many Dental Issues

Here are the most common dental flaws that porcelain is a beautiful solution:

Gaps between teeth

Porcelain veneers can be placed over your teeth to cover empty spaces between your teeth. They are uniform in size, so gaps are not visible with veneers.

Chips and worn areas

Chips, cracks, and uneven wear detract from your smile, making you look years older, and enamel erosion causes your teeth to be vulnerable to damage. Porcelain veneers conceal uneven or jagged edges on your teeth while protecting against further damage.

Permanent stains

Some stains are set in and can’t be removed through whitening treatments or teeth cleaning. Discoloration from certain medications, such as tetracycline or excessive fluoride treatments, can make your teeth dull, gray, or brown. Veneers cover the discoloration and restore your teeth to a beautifully natural shade.

Uneven, misshapen teeth

Some people have teeth that are naturally uneven or irregular in shape and size. Dental veneers make your teeth appear more uniform in size and shape, eliminating the problem of teeth that are not even.

Slightly crooked teeth

If you’re not a candidate for orthodontics, your slightly crooked teeth can be fixed with porcelain veneers.

Tooth sensitivity

Soda, acidic foods, and alcohol can compromise your tooth enamel, which makes your teeth more sensitive to hot and cold foods and drinks. If you experience sensitivity to hot and cold, veneers provide protection for your teeth to reduce or eliminate tooth sensitivity.
